College Sport 2016

Swimming carnival results:

From our rain interrupted College athletics carnival, 51 students went on to compete at district athletics, with the intermediate boys winning their overall age group.  
From district, 16 students won through to compete at regional athletics.  

Cross country:

This year we trialled something new and ran our College cross country in PE classes during a College wide ‘Cross country week’.   81 students qualified into the cross country team to compete in the district final.  After coming in the top 10 for their age group, 8 students won through to the regional cross country final.  


Team sports:

Year 8 boys, Year 9-10 boys and Year 9-10 girls all won the district finals for volleyball.  
The Year 9-10 girls badminton team also won the district final. Lastly, the Year 8 boys basketball team also won the district final.
  
The Year level champions were assigned based on the students participation in the College swimming, athletics and/or cross country carnivals, plus their involvement in College team sports.

Lastly, it is our great pleasure to announce the 2016 College Athlete of the Year, which goes to Ahmad Mohammadi.  
Ahmad represented the College at Regional Cross Country, and at Regional Athletics in the 400m, 800m and 1500m.  Well done Ahmad!
